The following directions are for general use for OdorZyme Ready to Use and our Concentrate formula.

OdorZyme "Ready To Use": For best results... Do not dilute OdorZyme! No mixing required. Follow same application directions as the Concentrate below after mixed.

Note: All concentrates are shipped in 8 fluid oz bottles for easy storage and mixing!

Concentrate: Mix the 8oz bottle x 2 gallons of water to provide the ready to use amount you ordered! For best results DO NOT OVER DILUTE! Note: You may dilute a stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong. Apply with a clean household or pump sprayer. (Be sure there are NO chemical or soap residue left in the sprayer from previous use.)

Shake well! Some settling may occur if the bottle is left stationary for long periods of time.

Test for colorfastness. Although our products are safe and effective, it is always a good idea to test the materials to be cleaned for color fastness. This may be done on a swatch of the subject material or in an inconspicuous area.

Important! Saturate Area! Since the objective is to eliminate all odors, be sure to use enough product to come into contact with all contaminated areas.

Do not mix with other chemicals or soaps! Odor-Solution.com products contain "live" bacterial cultures. The use of other cleaning products in conjunction will lessen the effectiveness of the product.

Repeat as necessary. Since uric acid salt crystals build up in layers, repeated application may be necessary to completely eliminate all stains and odors.

Coverage area: This will depend on how big the problem area, thickness of the carpet and pad. It is important to SATURATE the affected area(s) through the carpet, pad and the subfloor! If the area is the size of a baseball we recommend SATURATING the size of a basketball in order to reach all the urine deposits that may have traveled below the surface.

1.First, identify the area(s) to be treated and estimate amount of urine deposited. (Single occurrence vs. repeated soiling).

2.For new deposits, soak up as much of the liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3.Test materials for colorfastness. Although safe for use on the most common carpeting materials, it is recommended that you test an inconspicuous area first. Should you have any doubt, discontinue use and consult the carpet/rug manufacturer or carpeting cleaning professional.

4. Dilute 8oz. x 2 Gallon maximum of clean water in a clean container. Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

5. Saturate contaminated area thoroughly. For best results, the bacterial enzymes must come into contact with the contaminants in order to completely digest the source of the offending odors. Use enough product to penetrate the carpet, carpet backing, padding through to the sub-flooring (i.e. plywood/OSB/concrete).

6. Allow to air dry. As a bio-based product, bacterial cultures need to stay in a moist environment in order to reproduce, multiply and consume contaminants. After completely dry and all odor has been eliminated, you may rinse with clean water or clean the area to remove any residue and to help prevent future resoiling of the area.

7. Repeat as necessary. Since uric acid crystals can build-up in layers over time, it may be necessary to repeat the procedures listed above until all stains and odors are removed.

Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are "lifting" and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action.

Use on affected areas before shampooing or professional carpet cleaning. "Wet" process carpet cleaning machinery and procedures may result in spreading the odor causing materials (uric acid crystals) over a wider area, making cleanup more difficult.

On heavily saturated areas or difficult stains, treat and cover area in plastic (a plastic garbage bag will do the job). This will help retain moisture, extending the working "life cycle" of the bacterial cultures.

When replacing old carpeting, treat the entire subfloor (i.e. plywood/OSB/concrete) after the old carpeting is removed. This will eliminate any odors that may have been previously inaccessible.

* Special Note: Older "set" stains may not lift completely due to acidic "etching". Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to uric acid may actually "burn" carpet fibers beyond repair. If this has happened, nothing will remove the damaged area. Back to top

Used sparingly, is an excellent tool for removing urine odors from the cracks and crevices of wood flooring. As a general guideline, Odor-Solution.com products may be used on any water-safe and properly sealed wood flooring material. If you are unsure, please consult the wood-flooring manufacturer.

Directions for use:

1.Identify the area to be treated.

2.For new deposits, soak up as much of the liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3.Dilute each 8 oz. x 2 Gallon maximum of clean water in a clean container. Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

4.Use sparingly to cover the effected area. We do not recommend complete saturation as the moisture may damage the wood or adhesives. In the case of wood flooring, it is better to repeat the procedure several times than to introduce too much moisture.

Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are "lifting" and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action.

For heavily saturated areas or difficult stains, treat and cover area in plastic (a plastic garbage bag will do the job) for no longer than one hour. This will help extend the working "life cycle" of UriZyme's bacterial cultures. Back to top

Due to their large size and construction methods, successful removal of urine stains and odors can be troublesome. However, following the guidelines below helps increase your chances of success.

Traditional Spring Construction Mattresses

Directions for use:

1. First, identify the area(s) to be treated and estimate amount of urine deposited. (Single occurrence vs. repeated soiling).

2. For new deposits, soak up as much of the liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3. Test materials for colorfastness. Although UriZyme is safe for use on the most common fabrics, it is recommended that you test UriZyme in an inconspicuous area first. Should you have any doubt, discontinue use and consult the mattress manufacturer.

4. Dilute each 8oz. x 2 Gallon maximum of clean water in a clean container. Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

5. Saturate contaminated area thoroughly. For best results, the bacterial enzymes must come into contact with the contaminants in order to completely digest the source of the offending odors. Use enough product to penetrate the fabric surface through to multiple layers of padding, to the spring coils and finally to the opposite side (depending on how much urine was deposited).

6. Flip mattress (if necessary) and repeat procedure from opposite side.

7. It may beneficial to keep the treated area moist by covering effected area with plastic (a plastic garbage bag will do the job). As a bio-based product, bacterial cultures need to stay in a moist environment in order to reproduce, multiply and consume contaminants. Covering with plastic will help retain moisture, extending the working "life cycle" of the bacterial cultures.

9. Repeat as necessary. Due to the inaccessible "hollow" construction of traditional mattresses, it may be necessary to repeat the procedures listed above until all stains and odors are removed.

Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are "lifting" and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action.

Use on effected areas before professional upholstery cleaning. "Wet" process cleaning machinery and procedures may result in spreading the odor causing materials (uric acid crystals) over a wider area, making clean up more difficult.

Special Note: Older "set" stains may not lift completely due to acidic "etching" of the mattress fabric. Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to uric acid may actually "burn" fibers beyond repair.

Foam Construction Mattresses

Directions for use:

1. First, identify the area(s) to be treated and estimate amount of urine deposited. (Single occurrence vs. repeated soiling).

2. For new deposits, soak up as much of the liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3. Test materials for colorfastness. Although safe for use on the most common fabrics (such as vinyl and nylon found on hospital mattresses), it is recommended that you test an inconspicuous area first. Should you have any doubt, discontinue use and consult the mattress manufacturer.

4. Dilute each 4 oz. x 1 Gallon maximum of clean water in a clean container. Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

5. Saturate contaminated area thoroughly. For best results, the bacterial enzymes must come into contact with the contaminants in order to completely digest the source of the offending odors. Use enough product to penetrate the surface fabric through to foam cushion material.

Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are "lifting" and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action. Back to top

Due to the absorbent nature of furniture and upholstery cushions, urine contamination on these surfaces can be especially troublesome. However, by following the guidelines found below, stains and odors on these surfaces can be successfully removed.

Although safe for use on the most common fabrics, it is recommended that you test an inconspicuous area first. Should you have any doubt, discontinue use and consult the furniture manufacturer or furniture cleaning professional.

4. Dilute each 8oz. x 2 Gallon maximum of clean water in a clean container. Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

5. Saturate contaminated area thoroughly. Use enough product to penetrate the surface fabric and cushion material. For best results, the bacterial enzymes must come into contact with the contaminants in order to completely digest the source of the offending odors.

Note: Urine odors may intensify with the initial application. This is a sign that the urine deposits are "lifting" and being broken apart by the bio-enzymatic action.

Use on effected areas before professional cleaning. "Wet" process cleaning machinery (such as extractors) and procedures may result in spreading the odor causing materials (uric acid crystals) over a wider area, making clean up more difficult.

On heavily saturated areas or difficult stains, treat and cover area in plastic (a plastic garbage bag will do the job). This will help retain moisture, extending the working "life cycle" of the bacterial cultures. Treat area and leave overnight.

If furniture cushions have removable covers, remove; treat fabric, and launder/dry clean as recommended. Treat exposed cushion material and allow to air dry. This procedure will eliminate any odors that may have been previously inaccessible.

Special Note: Older "set" stains may not lift completely due to acidic "etching". Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to uric acid may actually "burn" fabric fibers beyond repair. Back to top

UriZyme's penetrating action works excellent on hard surface flooring such as concrete, linoleum, and tile & grout. The cleaning procedures for hard surface flooring are as follows:

Directions for use:

1. Identify the area to be treated.

2. For new deposits, soak up as much of the liquid as possible. An absorbent material such as wadded paper towel is both effective and disposable.

3. Dilute each 8oz. x 2 Gallon maximum of clean water in a clean container. Note: You may dilute stronger solution if the odor and stain problem is older or extremely strong.

4. Saturate Area. Since the objective is to eliminate all odors, be sure to use enough product to come into contact with all contaminated areas. Special note: Since the surfactants can make hard surface flooring slippery, be sure to mark area and use "wet floor" safety precautions.

6.Clean treated area with normal floor cleaning procedures. Remove any excess surfactants that remain on flooring to prevent slip/fall hazard.

For heavily saturated areas or difficult stains, treat and cover area in plastic (a plastic garbage bag will do the job). This will help retain moisture, extending the working "life cycle" of bacterial cultures.

On concrete (and other porous surfaces) repeated applications may be necessary to "reach" all of the effected areas. Back to top
